WINTER RHAPSODY

The Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra Senior musicians are very excited to present and perform on December 11^th with internationally acclaimed pianist Mr. David Fung!  Sergei Rachmaninoff’s virtuosic Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini will be the jewel of the afternoon, together with Dvorak’s lyrical Symphony No. 8 and the lively Overture to Candide, by Leonard Bernstein.  Opening the program will be the youngest of the VYSO family, the Debut Orchestra under the direction of Ms. Monica Chen performing music of American composer Norman Leyden. We promise nothing short of a gorgeous program highlighting the exquisite flair of Mr. Fung accompanied by the talents of our Senior Orchestra, under the exceptional direction of Dr. Jonathan Girard.
